What Are Your Weaknesses?

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

It's quite possibly the most difficult interview question you'll be faced with. So, I wrote an article that breaks down exactly how to position and present your weakness to a potential employer.

Believe it or not, about 75% of the people I interviewed (and I interviewed well over 1,000) answered the question with one of these two responses:

  1. I work too hard
  2. I'm a perfectionist

These are arguably the lamest answers in the history of interviewing.

Believe me, employers are not going to believe that you work "too hard".

However, there is a much better way to answer this question: I explain specifically what you need to know to ace this question in the free advice section of our website.

And here's a great opportunity for you: I'd love to help you position your weaknesses into something that will actually improve your interview. Simply comment on this post (below) or send us a message on Twitter with your true weakness that you hesitate to tell employers. We'll pick some of the best to highlight as "before and after" examples in a future blog post.

For more help, we can also conduct mock interview sessions to prepare you for your next job interview. Visit JobBound.com for more information.
